Concealed Carry Course

Day 1
USCCA Curriculum: Concealed Carry & Home Defense Fundamentals (Lessons 1-7)

  • Developing a Personal and Home Protection Plan
  • Self-Defense Firearm Basics
  • Defensive Shooting Fundamentals
  • The Legal Use of Force
  • Deadly Encounters and the Aftermath
  • Gear and Gadgets
  • Basic and Advanced Firearm Skills / Training Recommendations
    • Students will be given a multiple-choice exam on the 7 lessons that they can complete as they are learning.
  • Illinois State Rules and Regulations: State and Federal Laws Relating to Ownership, Storage, Carry & Transportation of a Firearm. Use of Force, Banned Locations and Unlawful Use of Firearms.

Day 2 (16 hour ONLY)

  • Basic Firearm Fundamentals (Stance, Grip, Sights, Breath, Trigger Control)
  • Universal Safety Rules – Safe Gun Handling and Pistol Knowledge
  • Gun Maintenance: Students will learn/show how to disassemble their firearm, properly clean, and reassemble. *Cleaning supplies provided in class.
  • Holster Skills: Students will learn how to properly unholster and re-holster firearms during dry-fire practice in the classroom. *Holsters for practice provided in class.
  • Hands-on Dry-Fire Simulator Practice: Using our Mantis and Smokeless Range training systems, students will have the chance to practice their Shooting Fundamental skills with training laser SIRT guns before and after range time.
  • Malfunctions: Students will learn how to identify different types of malfunctions and learn how to properly clear them using training ammo (dummy rounds).
  • Shooting Qualification (Live Fire on Range): Students must pass the shooting qualification portion of the class with a score of 70% or better. Students will be required to shoot a total of 30 rounds of ammunition, completing 10 rounds per distance: 5 yards, 7 yards, 10 yards. Students must follow all range rules and demonstrate safe handling. This shooting qualification is required for both the CCL 16hr and 3hr renewal courses.

JCC Firearms also offers

8-hour Credit
Available only for Veterans or Prior Law Enforcement, we also accept previous firearm training like NRA Basic Pistol

3-hour CCL Renewal Course
Available to individuals who have the IL Concealed Carry License and are seeking to renew their permit. Students must meet all State requirements.

Utah Concealed Carry
Available to individuals who desire the Utah CCL which offers reciprocity to additional states. IL CCL holders only require a 30-minute class, while there is a 4-hour class requirement for Illinois residents who do not hold an IL CCL.
